Requisiti

  • Joomla 5.x o 6.x
  • PHP 8.1 o superiore

Installazione

  1. Scarica kautosubtitle.zip e installalo da Sistema → Installa → Estensioni → Carica pacchetto.
  2. Vai in Sistema → Gestione → Plugin, cerca "KAutoSubtitle" e abilita "Contenuti - KAutoSubtitle".

Come funziona

Opzioni

  • Testo in corsivo (Sì) e Testo in grassetto (No).

Domande frequenti

KAutoSubtitle documentation

KAutoSubtitle shows each article's Meta Description as a subtitle under its title, in category blog, featured and list of articles views. For the product overview and download, see the KAutoSubtitle page.

Requirements

  • Joomla 5.x or 6.x
  • PHP 8.1 or later

Installation

  1. Download kautosubtitle.zip and install it from System → Install → Extensions → Upload Package File.
  2. Go to System → Manage → Plugins, search for "KAutoSubtitle" and enable "Content - KAutoSubtitle".
  3. Open the plugin and enable at least one view (Blog, Featured or List of Articles): they are all off by default, so without this step no subtitle appears.

Updates arrive from System → Update → Extensions.

How it works

  • The subtitle is the article's Meta Description field (Publishing tab of the article).
  • Articles without a Meta Description get no subtitle: the plugin does not fall back to the article text.
  • The default style is smaller, lighter and italic, and takes the text colour from the template: it works on light and dark themes.
  • The single-article page is not changed.

Options

Default values in brackets.

  • Apply to category Blog view (No), Apply to Featured Articles view (No), Apply to List of Articles view (No): where to show the subtitle. The List of Articles view works with Joomla's standard markup; with a heavily customised template override nothing may appear, without errors.
  • Included categories: when set, only articles in these categories and their subcategories get a subtitle. Empty = no restriction.
  • Excluded categories: articles in these categories and their subcategories never get a subtitle. Combines with the included ones, for example to exclude a subcategory of an included branch.
  • Additional CSS class: a class already defined in your template, added to the base kautosubtitle-text class. Only letters, digits, hyphens and underscores are accepted.
  • Text size (0.85): the number only, the em unit is added automatically (for example 1 or 0.7).
  • Italic text (Yes) and Bold text (No).

FAQ

No subtitle appears. Check that the view is enabled in the options (they are all off by default), that the article has a Meta Description and that its category is not excluded or outside the included categories.

I want a different style. Use the size, italic and bold options, or add a CSS class from your template. For more specific rules you can target the kautosubtitle-text class in your template's custom CSS.

Uninstalling

Uninstall "Content - KAutoSubtitle" from System → Manage → Extensions. The plugin never changes saved articles: the Meta Descriptions stay where they are.
