Requisiti

  • Joomla 5.x o 6.x
  • PHP 8.1 o superiore

Installazione

  1. Scarica kautoimagezoom.zip e installalo da Sistema → Installa → Estensioni → Carica pacchetto.
  2. Vai in Sistema → Gestione → Plugin, cerca "KAutoImageZoom" e abilita "Contenuti - KAutoImageZoom". Funziona subito nella pagina dei singoli articoli.

Gli aggiornamenti arrivano da Sistema → Aggiorna → Estensioni.

Come funziona

  • Durata animazione popup (ms) (250): 0 disattiva l'animazione.
  • Effetto sfondo del popup (Sfocato e oscurato): nessuno, sfocato, oscurato oppure entrambi.
  • Applica alla vista Articolo completo (Sì), Applica alle viste Blog/Elenco Categoria (No), Applica alla Descrizione Categoria (Sì), Applica alla vista Articoli in evidenza (No).

Cornice immagine

Opzioni avanzate

KAutoImageZoom documentation

KAutoImageZoom makes article images larger than a threshold clickable and opens them at full resolution in a lightweight popup, with the alternative text as caption. No galleries or shortcodes needed. For the product overview and download, see the KAutoImageZoom page.

Requirements

  • Joomla 5.x or 6.x
  • PHP 8.1 or later

Installation

  1. Download kautoimagezoom.zip and install it from System → Install → Extensions → Upload Package File.
  2. Go to System → Manage → Plugins, search for "KAutoImageZoom" and enable "Content - KAutoImageZoom". It works right away on single-article pages.

Updates arrive from System → Update → Extensions.

How it works

  • The plugin checks the real width of the uploaded file, not the displayed size: large images shown smaller in the article become clickable, icons and small decorations do not.
  • The popup is written from scratch, with no external JavaScript library. It closes with Esc, a click on the backdrop or the close button, handles keyboard focus properly and respects the system "reduce motion" setting.
  • It only works with the site's own images; remote images and SVGs are ignored.

Options

Default values in brackets.

General

  • Minimum image width for zoom (600 px).
  • Show caption from alt text (Yes): if the image has alternative text, it appears under the image in the popup.
  • Popup animation duration (ms) (250): 0 disables the animation.
  • Popup backdrop effect (Blurred & darkened): none, blurred, darkened or both.
  • Apply to full Article view (Yes), Apply to Category Blog/List views (No), Apply to Category Description (Yes), Apply to Featured Articles view (No).

Image Frame

  • Image frame color (none): light, dark or custom, with Custom frame color. Useful to keep light photos from blending into the backdrop.
  • Frame thickness (px) (3, 0 to 50) and Corner rounding (px) (4, 0 to 30).

Advanced Options

  • Excluded categories (with their subcategories) and Excluded articles (by ID).

FAQ

An image does not become clickable. The original file is narrower than the threshold, the image is hosted elsewhere or is an SVG, or the article is in an excluded category. Also check that the view you are looking at is enabled in the options.

The popup has no caption. The image has no alternative text: add it in the article editor (it also helps accessibility and SEO).

I already use another lightbox. Two lightboxes on the same image overlap: exclude from KAutoImageZoom the categories or articles handled by the other one.

Uninstalling

Uninstall "Content - KAutoImageZoom" from System → Manage → Extensions. Articles are not changed: the plugin only acts when pages are displayed.
